Anatomy Trains Structural Bodywork is designed to help people get out of pain, have more mobility in their body, and to move more freely and with ease. SI is great for people who have dealt with chronic pain, who want to move more freely in their body, and to have more mobility and freedom and more energy in their system.
Structural bodywork is a holistic, system-based approach to addressing the body. Through movement and static assessment we will seek to uncover the cause of your symptoms and will treat them using a combination of the Anatomy Trains method of Structural Integration and somatic movement therapy. It is an experience that will transform your mind, body, and spirit.
Anatomy Trains Structural Integration is a form of manual therapy which is used to realign the body. Structural BodyworkI is a holistic approach to helping the body find more balance, ease of movement and freedom from pain. It focuses on the fascia of the body which is the connective tissue that surrounds our muscles, groups of muscles, viscera, nerves and arteries; it is the web that holds us together.
Sometimes the source of pain may lie elsewhere and we will investigate based on your postural patterns where the dysfunction may be coming from.
Each session focuses on what structures are not gliding smoothly and also what muscles or groups of muscles are short or restricted as well as long and overloaded. Through standing postural assessment we will explore the relationships between the bony structures of your body. How does your rib cage relate to your pelvis, how does your pelvis relate to your feet? From this assessment we can start to figure our what tissue needs more movement and freedom.
Structural Integration is system based not symptom based approach and this is why it has long lasting effects on the system as a whole. Sessions are usually built into a 3-series, 6-series, or 12-series.
